On March 19, 1962--the feast of Saint Joseph--the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius welcomed their first guests to the newly completed 100-bed facility, Maria Joseph Manor in Danville, Pennsylvania. Some of the guests arrived from a temporary residence in Middletown, Pennsylvania, which they shared with the Sisters. This earlier residence, known as Saint Ann's, was near the Jednota Orphanage where the Sisters had served.
Over the years, with God's blessing, the commitment of the Sisters, and the generous support of family and friends, Maria Joseph Manor has grown into an impressive Continuing Care Community that allows the Sisters to fulfill their mission of service to the sick and the aging. |
